Thank you for listening to episode 130 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  We got an email asking how they can maximize the time they're in welding school and what to expect for an upcoming weld test when they go to get a job.  There was a few more items to the email that we touched on.  It was fun to look back to where we came from and how we look at things differently today.  If you were to go back to school tomorrow would you run the padded bead plate differently then you did while you were there?  We hope you enjoy this episode and helps you in your class or makes you think back to when you were green.  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 129 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  Andrew Cardin, @thebostonweldah, has been hanging out with Jody for the past week or so working on some weld procedures, so we thought it would be a good time to chat about what they have been up to.  Ever welded pipe vertical with 7016 rod?  If you're in the gas pipe world you'll want to take some good notes this might be something coming down the line in your future.  Have a great week everyone!  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 128 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we talk all about Plasma Tables and also, asked ZTFab Paul Brinegar to give us a few pointers into what to look for and some tips to improving your cut quality.  Just like with everything else there a lot more to just buying a table and you're off to the running.  If you're in the market for your first table or trying to improve the one you have be sure to get out some paper and pens to take notes!  It will be worth it!  Enjoy.

Thank you for listening to episode 127 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast.  For this episode we took some time to talk about good versus bad machines.  What we like to look for in a Tig welder.  You don't always have to get a legacy brand machine to get all the fancy tools, or do you?  This episode took a few good twists and turns.  We hope you enjoy!  Have a great week!

Thank you for listening to episode 126 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we had a suggestion sent to us from one of our Patrons asking our thoughts on Good Craftsmanship versus Bad Craftsmanship.  This is a very broad topic and we didn't really know where this conversation would end up.  Hopefully we answered a few questions our Patron had and possible some of yours too.  Have a great week everyone!  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 125 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this topic episode we talked about some of the key steps you should do to pass an aluminum certification weld test.  Mostly focused towards the D17.1 tests.  Aluminum is notorious for being a pain to get to pass x-ray with porosity issues and a few other common indications.  If you're future holds a test like this in it you'll want to take some notes!  Have a great week.  Enjoy!

Thanks for listening to episode 124 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this weeks guest we talked to Matt Hayden, who is a welding instructor at Cedartown High School and is heavily involved with the SkillsUSA competitions.  If you have ever wondered what it was like to be involved in these events here's a front seat look from an instructors point of view along with a competitor.  We hope this episode will help open your eyes to the world of welding outside the shop.  If you're currently in school you need to look into the Skills program.  Life lessons at your fingertips.  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 120 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  Have you ever heard of the saying All things that glitter are not Gold?  Well we thought it would be an fun topic to apply this to running a business.  Some jobs and customers are not what they seem to be and when is it a good time to wash your hands of them to concentrate on another job or customer that is Gold.  We hope you can come away from this episode with a few tips that might help you take a second look at your company and see what changes might need to happen.  Have a great week!

Thank you for listening to episode 119 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we thought it would be fun to talk about setting up a Rig.  We asked Nick Bezates to join in to give his point of view on this and some of the do's and don'ts he's learned over the years.  If you're thinking of starting a Rig you'll really want to pay close attention to this one!  Lots of great information to set you on the right path!  Have a great week!  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 116 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we thought it would be fun to talk about the Dreaded Spool Gun.  Roy has been working on a job for Jonathan for the past few weeks that has been nothing but Spool Gun Aluminium, so we thought the timing would be good to talk about our experiences we have with them.  What has worked and what has not.  They're not the most ideal way of welding aluminum but they really do get the job done and if you pay attention to the small details they're really not all bad.  Enjoy!

Thanks for listening to episode 115 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!   For this weeks topic we thought it would be fun to chat about a few of the different kinds of Super Alloys there are out there, that we know of, and how you can take the techniques welding them and apply them to more standard materials.  We hope that this episode will spark an interest in you to go do some research of your own on some different materials.  Never know when that extra information will be very handy!

Thank you for listening to episode 114 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we talk all about Hardfacing.  Because the three of us have very little experience with this process we reached out to Aaron Morgan from @Industrial_Ironworks to weigh in on this subject.  If you're thinking of getting into this type of work you'll really want to take some really good notes from this episode!  Aaron shared an amazing amount of information!  We hope you enjoy this episode.

Thanks for listening to episode 112 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this Topic episode we thought it would be fun to talk about a question we received in a DM.  It asked us what would be tell our younger selves about the welding world after many years of experience.  Jonathan wasn't able to join us so we reached out to ICWeld to give us his take on this topic.  We hope that if you're new to the trade that you can learn from our experience and start your path a little different, and if you've been in the game for a while take some time and think about what you'd tell yourself.  It's a fun experiment.  Enjoy!

Thank you for listening to episode 111 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast.  For this episode we thought it would be fun to have Mike Zanconato back on after Jody spent some time up at his shop filming.  If you haven't had a chance to watch these videos on YouTube you should stop now and go check them out.  For this episode we brake down those topics, Tig welding Aluminum, Silver Brazing, and Tig welding Titanium.  This episode is filled with great information!  We hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for listening to episode 109 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we started off talking about the different fields of welding and how they are to work in them, but the conversation kind of changed to keeping your eyes open for other opportunities.  Most of the time a good conversation just flows from one topic to the next and this one just did that on it's own.  We hope you have a great week and enjoy this conversation!

Thanks for listening to episode 108 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we thought it was time we discussed Stick Welding.  This is the process most weldors start with and will use off and on during their career, depending on the field they're in.  JD Brewer joined in on this conversation and added some of his experience with stick welding.  We hope you pick up a few tips in this one and they help you take your next step in welding!  Enjoy!

Thanks for listening to episode 107 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we had a chance to get to know Scott Thayer who works with Bug-O Systems.  Jonathan knows Scott very well and had fun talking about their past.  If you've never heard of Bug-O or never had a chance to run a mechanized welding system you're missing out on some interesting things.  These systems will never take over the welding industry but they do have their place.  When the job calls for it, it's handy to know what tools to look for!  We hope that this episode opens your eyes to other options that might be available to you or the companies you work for! Enjoy!

Thanks for listening to episode 106 of the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast!  For this episode we're doing a re-post of episode 28 Underwater Welding with Nate Martin.  This past week we had a really hard time lining up our schedules and when we did get together the connection was really bad.  Didn't want to miss posting something so we thought posting one of our favorite episodes would be good.  This episode is one that you can listen to many times and pick up different things each time.  If this is your first time listening to it, you're in for a treat!  Enjoy
